Weardrobe.com is a rapidly growing startup with one of the leading fashion communities online. We are focused on indexing user generated content and making it searchable by style, brand, color and trend. Weardrobe was recently acquired by Like.com, a series C funded visual search company. We are looking for a senior rails developer to lead the creative development of our website. You will be leading the build out of a critical component of our product strategy as well as the Weardrobe development team in the future.
All candidates must have several years experience working on high-traffic social community web sites, and mastery of:
- HTML, CSS
- JavaScript frameworks like prototype, jquery, dojo, YUI. You should be able to compare/contrast the frameworks and know the quirks of ones you`ve used.
- Cross-browser issues. You know exactly how to test and debug each browser and can quantitatively identify performance bottlenecks.
- Third-party integration. You know the pitfalls of third-party cookies. You`re familiar with cross-domain issues in both DHTML and Flash.
- ActionScript. You should be comfortable with AS 2.0 and 3.0 and be able to maintain codebases in both versions. You know how and when to use Flash-cookies.
- Version control systems like CVS, Subversion.
- Bug-tracking systems like Fogbugz, Bugzilla.
- XSLT
Ideal candidates will also have experience with:
- Facebook API
- Bookmarklets, Firefox extensions
- iPhone SDK, Android
